The storms were quite strong last night and many people are
still without power. Thankfully they are
behind us now and we will see nice but cool weather through the weekend. The next chance of showers and thunderstorms
will be Monday morning and the next ugly day is likely to be next Thursday
again as another cold front approaches bringing heavy showers and
thunderstorms. We may see one more day
of warm weather with temperatures approaching 80 degrees late next week prior
to the cold front passing through, then things may cool down to Autumn-like
temperatures. This weekend a tropical
system is likely to develop in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico and then make
landfall on Monday over Northern Mexico or extreme southwest Texas. Luckily though with these strong cold fronts,
there are no signs of tropical development affecting eastern sections of the
Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Coast.
