Saturday, September 14th, 2013 - Morning Weather Discussion

I still can’t get over how bad the storms were on Thursday night.  There were branches and small trees down everywhere when I left for work yesterday morning.  When my wife went to the store yesterday after work they did not have any frozen food because their power was out for 12 hours and they had to throw everything out.  And now it is quite cool and dry this weekend with lows likely getting close to 40 degrees tomorrow morning in the typically colder locations.  Tomorrow night and into Monday morning we will have some showers and possibly thunderstorms on Monday morning as another cold front approaches.  Then Monday will be quite chilly with the high likely only reaching the low 60’s.  Tuesday and Wednesday should then be nice days, prior to showers and thunderstorms developing again late in the day on Thursday as yet another cold front approaches.  This front may then stall out, leaving us with continued chances for showers and thunderstorms on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  Things should then clear out for early the following week, with chances for showers and thunderstorms again that Thursday as well.  As far as tropical development goes, there is a tropical system in the Southwestern Gulf of Mexico that will strengthen over the weekend and then make landfall in Mexico, but the strong cold fronts that continue moving well off the Atlantic Coast should continue to prevent tropical systems from affecting the United States.
