September 27th, 2013 - Evening Weather Discussion

It now looks as if the European model really was not that far off from many days ago when it got the storm pretty close to us.  It will still be further offshore than it showed many days ago, but it will be closer than it looked yesterday at this time.  The European model now brings the storm close enough to us on Sunday night that it will bring clouds into our area on Sunday and Sunday night, and it now brings the center of what will likely be a Tropical Storm to a point about 100 miles off the coast of Cape Cod early on Monday morning as the storm develops well out to sea then takes a sharp turn in our direction before finally being deflected back out to sea by a cold front moving towards us from the west.  The Tropical Storm will ultimately make landfall on Nova Scotia, Canada early on Tuesday morning.  Next week should then be much warmer with highs in the low to mid 80's most days.  The next system to watch will be a strong cold front and associated low pressure over the Southeastern United States that will be approaching our area for next weekend, bringing rain to our area starting on Friday night and continuing through Saturday morning.  It may then clear out on Saturday afternoon, and last through Sunday morning when another weaker storm system may bring some cold rain to our area for Sunday night and cooler weather for the following week.  Looking further into the future, in all honesty, things still look very much on track for an early season snow somewhere in the Northeast, possibly even into portions of our area as we head toward the end of October.  Stay tuned.
