Thursday, September 12th, 2013 - Morning Weather Discussion

We will have one more day of warm air with highs in the low 80’s but showers and thunderstorms will develop this morning and become heavy at times, with the worst of the storms likely to occur this afternoon.  Things will then cool down quite a bit with lows dropping into the 40’s this weekend.  Things will likely warm up again briefly for the middle of next week, prior to a cool down again.  As far as possible tropical development goes, there is a slight chance of a tropical system developing over the next couple of days in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico that would threaten Northern Mexico, then we will have to watch for the possibility of a tropical system to develop near the Bahamas about 10 days from now that could then threaten the Coastal Carolinas if it were to develop.  We will have to wait and see.
