We will have variably cloudy skies again today, with a chance
of a rain or snow shower, followed by nice days through Tuesday, with only a
slight chance of a shower on Tuesday. On
Wednesday a weak storm system will then approach, bringing a chance of some
light rain or showers for Wednesday morning.
Then the big question comes as the European model and the American model
again differ substantially in their handling of a cold front that will be
approaching late next week. The European
model holds the cold front up until Saturday morning, meaning that we would
have a nice Halloween, with temperatures in the mid to upper 40’s at trick or
treat time, with showers for Friday and heavy rain likely on Saturday morning,
followed by nice weather for later in the weekend. The American model however remains very
consistent in saying that we will have rain right in time for Halloween evening
and it would be downright miserable for the trick or treaters. It would then clear things out on Friday and
then would develop a significant Nor'easter off the East Coast for Saturday
night and Sunday that could bring us some rain, and would be very close to
bringing us some snow. The American
model runs have definitely been consistent and quite interesting for late next
week and next weekend and they may very well be correct. However, due to the fact that I have been
burned too many times by our wonderful American model , I will go with the
European model again today, but please keep in mind that I would be the first
to admit that the American model may very well be correct, and that would lead
to an awful Halloween evening. I am
really hoping for the European model to be correct so we can have a nice
evening for the little ones. Check back
for updates though as this forecast has a very low degree of confidence
starting next Wednesday.
