A coastal low has developed and will bring some substantial rain to our area tomorrow and Friday and lighter rain is possible for Saturday, with some clearing possible with variably cloudy skies likely on Sunday and Monday. The next system to be concerned about should enter our area from the west, bringing us a chance for showers and thunderstorms next Thursday and Friday, followed by much colder weather for next weekend with the first chance of a vegetation killing frost or freeze in many locations and snow showers in the higher elevations of New York State and New England. Then we need to keep a close eye on the all important time frame of the past two years as there is a possibility of a strong cold front moving through here around Thursday October 24th. At the same time a storm system may be approaching that could be the first accumulating snowfall for some areas of the Northeastern United States, with exact locations still to be determined. Of more important concern would be what the latest run of the American model is showing, a strong hurricane that could possibly be well out in the Atlantic ocean at the same time. Hopefully it stays there and heads north into the center of the Atlantic Ocean as the model is currently showing instead of coming right at us like they did the past two years. Stay tuned.
