Well, the National Weather Service confirmed that a tornado
did reach the ground in Paramus, Bergen County on Monday. Click here to read the article. This was the same storm that I warned about
at 2:37pm on Monday afternoon that I thought I saw a hook echo in, as it
moved to the Northeast a tornado did eventually reach the ground. Again, I have no idea why the National
Weather Service did not issue a tornado warning at that point to warn
people. Also, I will not mention any names but a certain individual that heads a New York City radio station weather department said, "that the National Weather Service may have jumped the gun with the Tornado Watch". I could not have disagreed more at that time by warning of a possible tornado. I felt that a tornado warning should have been issued, never mind about a tornado watch. Things like this just make me utterly speechless. A tree did fall on a mother and
daughter in Bergen County during that storm.
Click here to read that article. Certainly if I can see this possibility with my limited time and this
just being a hobby, you would think they could see the same thing. I just don’t get it, but then again, I guess
this is why you come here to my blog. I
will remind everyone that the advertisements that run on this blog don’t even
come close to offsetting the cost for me to provide you with this
information. Anyway, moving forward, a
coastal storm is forming as we speak and will bring us some really ugly weather
from tonight through Monday, with heavy rain tomorrow and Friday and a
continued chance for light rain and drizzle through Monday. We will then finally get a nice day on
Tuesday as this storm finally decided to move away prior to the next storm
moving into our area from the west on Wednesday, again bringing heavy showers
and thunderstorms. It should then clear
out for Thursday and Friday of next week before an upper level low brings us a
chance for some showers next Saturday and Sunday, and there could even be some
snow showers in the highest elevations of New York State and New England. After this upper level low passes next
weekend we should see the coldest temperatures yet this season, with a vegetation
killing frost and freeze likely in many locations on the morning of Monday,
October 21st. Things should stay
nice for a few days, then by the following weekend we will have another storm
system approach from the west that may end up bringing some areas of the
Northeastern United States the first chance at an accumulating snow, yes this
would be our chance at a late October surprise this particular year but it is
much too early to tell if it will turn into anything more than just another
chance of rain for our particular area.
I just have to say that even though I always read your posts, I do check the weather channel occasionally for radar on my phone, etc... Last Sunday they weren't even calling for rain the next day (Monday), which ended up being crazy storms. And now they have LIGHT RAIN for Thursday and Friday......WOW, what a difference from you!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they may win this time. For some reason the rain is falling to our west over Northeastern Pennsylvania and to the south of us over South Jersey.
