Monday, November 11th, 2013 - Morning Weather Discussion

An arctic cold front will be approaching our area today, bringing increasing cloudiness late in the day and snow showers from around 1 am through 8-9 am tomorrow morning.  The snow could accumulate to a dusting to an inch in some locations, especially in the higher elevations.  My main concern is with the timing of the snow being at the morning rush hour.  Temperatures could drop below freezing with the snow, especially in the higher elevations.  The snow could also come down fairly heavy for brief periods of time, so it is possible that the roads could become slick in some locations, so please keep an eye out for tomorrow morning and be careful.  After the front passes tomorrow morning the high will only reach the middle to upper 30’s tomorrow and the lows will drop to the lower to middle 20’s on Wednesday morning, with some teens possible in the colder locations of Northwest New Jersey.  The high will again only reach the middle to upper 30’s on Wednesday.  The temperatures will gradually start to warm on Thursday, although it will be cold again in the morning with lows in the mid to upper 20’s.  Highs on Thursday should reach the upper 40’s, then the low to mid 50’s for Friday through Sunday.  Next Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance for showers each day ahead of a cold front that will finally move through next Wednesday morning, clearing things out.   It will again get briefly colder behind this front, but then gradually warm once again.
