Saturday, November 23rd, 2013 - Evening Weather Discussion

The only change to my forecast from this morning will be to say that the rain may continue through the day on Wednesday prior to possibly changing to light snow or flurries at night and possibly continuing until early morning on Thanksgiving Day. The European model is suggesting the possibility of a dusting to an inch of snow and ice at the beginning and end of the storm, but rain for the majority of the storm, with over 2 inches of much needed rain possible.  The warm air will move in because the European model is suggesting that the storm will take a track right over us, which will allow warm air to surge into our area.  The American model on the other hand is out to sea, quite literally, although its own ensemble members disagree with it.  50 of the 51 European model ensemble members agree with its operational run, just to give you an idea.  After the storm passes it will get quite cold for Thanksgiving, Black Friday and next weekend.  Then the middle of the following week we will need to watch for the potential of another Nor'easter.
