Well, things are likely to get interesting toward the middle
to end of next week. First though, we
will have a beautiful day today with a high in the upper 50’s, followed by
showers and thunderstorms tomorrow morning as a cold front approaches. The high tomorrow morning will be in the mid
50’s but temperatures will drop throughout the day as the front passes, with
the rain coming to an end in the early afternoon, followed by clearing. Friday through Monday will then be quite nice
but cool with lows dropping into the 20’s by Saturday morning and highs only in
the upper 40’s on Friday and the mid 40’s on Saturday. Sunday may be a touch warmer with highs
reaching the low 50’s, but dropping back to the upper 40’s again on
Monday. Tuesday we will then see
increasing cloudiness with a chance of a shower in the evening as an arctic
cold front will drop down and through our area in the evening. This front will cause any lingering showers
to change to snow flurries late on Tuesday night. Then on Wednesday it appears as if this front
may then start to move back north slowly as a warm front. However the cold air will be in place behind
this front with high temperatures expected to only reach the mid to upper 30’s
on Wednesday with the chance of a snow shower.
Then on Thursday the cold air may be well entrenched with temperatures
only in the upper 20’s to low 30’s during the day on Thursday at the same time
that the warm front approaches our area with some precipitation. If things work out as the European model is
currently showing we would see light snow in the morning on Thursday, mixing with
and changing to light sleet on Thursday afternoon, then mixing with and
changing to light freezing rain on Thursday evening, prior to finally changing
to light rain late on Thursday night. After
the warm front finally passes to our north early on Friday morning temperatures
will warm to above freezing and the frozen precipitation would become just rain
showers. After this, as we head into
next weekend, there is likely to be another storm to be concerned about,
however at the moment it appears that the warmer air will be in place so it
should be rain but this is still a long way out, so be sure to check back for
updates. This whole forecast could easily change quite
dramatically in any direction from Tuesday night on, so be sure to check back
for updates.
