Saturday, December 7th, 2013 - Evening Weather Discussion

I am still trying to recover from not seeing any snow when I woke up this morning.  Anyway, moving forward, we are below freezing now and we may remain below freezing until between 3 am and 7 am on Monday morning.  In between precipitation will start some time tomorrow around 4 pm give or take.  It will start as flurries or light snow and will continue as such until around midnight or 1 am on Monday morning.  It will then change to sleet and possibly some freezing rain prior to changing to rain between 3 am and 7 am from southeast to northwest across the region.  Total accumulations should range from a dusting to an inch in most locations but could be more than an inch in some places. I am no longer very impressed with this storm as being a big snow or ice threat, but I do think some of the typically colder locations in northwest New Jersey could have some problems into Monday morning.  We will then have showers into Monday afternoon.  We will then have a chance of some flurries or a snow shower on Tuesday, followed by much colder air for the rest of the week, and downright frigid air for Thursday with lows in the teens and highs only in the low to mid 20's.  We will then have to watch for the possibility of a storm approaching us from the southeastern United States and possibly becoming a Nor'easter.  This storm right now looks to threaten us on Saturday into Sunday, with the possibility of it lingering into next Monday.  Also, at the moment it appears to be our first legitimate chance of an all-snow event for our area.  Only time will tell though.  Check back for the latest.
