The freezing rain and sleet will come to an end before sunrise
then the next storm to watch will be on Tuesday as a weak storm system
approaches the west. This storm will
bring some light snow starting on Tuesday morning between 6 am and 7 am and
will end around 1 pm with total accumulations of 1-2 inches possible. Then the snow will start up again around 9 pm
and ends around midnight as another piece of energy moves through, bringing the
chance for another half inch to inch of snow.
Temperatures will then gradually warm to around 60 by Sunday morning as
warm air surges north ahead of a cold front.
We will have a chance of a shower on Friday into Saturday morning. Then we will have to watch as a low pressure
area develops over the southeastern United States. This storm will move northeast along the
front and the track that it takes will decide whether this storm is rain, snow,
or some mixture of rain or snow. Right
now there is still much uncertainty with the situation next weekend. The American and Canadian models are in
agreement with the general idea that we will once again be on the dividing line
between rain and snow with increasing chances for a changeover to snow as each
wave of low pressure moves by us. The
European model that just came out however says that they will be rain and we
will have a heat wave with temperatures reaching 60 degrees by next
Sunday. I am not yet ready to buy into
that, so I have gone with the American and Canadian models for next weekend for
now. So, either we will need snow
shovels or shorts next weekend. Not
quite sure yet. I will let you
know. After that as we get into
Christmas evening there will be a chance of Nor’easter developing and brining us
a bit of snow on Christmas night and the day after Christmas, then the
possibility of yet another storm bringing us more snow for next Friday and
Saturday.
