Super Bowl Weekend Discussion - Big Storm Possible

Well, looking ahead toward Super Bowl weekend, there are some pretty significant signs for the potential of a major East Coast Storm developing.  The reason for this looking to be the case is that there has been a tremendous amount of Northern Stream energy moving by, which has been producing all of these light snow chances, but there has been no Southern Stream energy since the big snowstorm back at the beginning of the month.  Going into Super Bowl weekend there are many signs that a strong piece of Southern Stream energy will be moving in from the Pacific Ocean and across Northern Mexico, entering Texas, then moving along the Gulf Coast.  This system will then almost definitely merge with Northern Stream energy dropping down from Canada toward the end of next week.  It is simply too far out to be certain as to exactly how these systems will interact or where the resulting storm would track, although initial indications are that the storm could be quite intense, which would allow it to buckle the jet stream.  This would allow warm air to surge north, allowing for warm air to move north for Super Bowl weekend and causing a big rain storm, which at the moment would be timed for Saturday (the day before the Super Bowl), with the rain heaviest on Saturday evening and night, then the cold front moving through on Sunday morning, bringing very windy and cold conditions for Sunday afternoon for the Super Bowl.  There are far too many variables this far out to take any one run seriously though.  But what you can take from this is that there is a possibility for a major East Coast storm for Super Bowl weekend, with extreme weather conditions being possible.  Of course if the storm were to move a bit further east than what the models currently show, then we could be dealing with a blizzard for Super Bowl weekend. It is going to be interesting either way.  Either heavy rain and 50's or 20's and blizzard conditions.  Check back for updates.
