Quick Update
The storm tonight is likely to be a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain but I am starting to lean more towards the sleet and freezing rain and less of the snow. My best guess for most people would be between 4-6 inches of snow, followed by significant sleet and freezing rain. I really hope this snow gets off the trees here soon, otherwise we may have problems with power outages tomorrow. As far as the weekend storm, I have seen all of the afternoon models and nothing changes my mind yet in either direction. The American model on this run brings a near blizzard to areas near New York City with around a foot of snow and a blizzard to New England with 1-2 feet of snow. The European model took one step closer to producing a big storm, but for now it just has light snow from Saturday afternoon, continuously through early Monday morning with 4-5 inches of accumulation. This can still go either way. Check back this evening for the latest. Oh yeah, and it changed the storm next Wednesday night into Thursday to a snowstorm now too (this morning it was rain or snow), and it has the chance of rain or snow next Friday as well, as a Nor'easter may develop.
