Tuesday, February 25th, 2014 - Evening Weather Discussion

Tomorrow and Thursday we will have a bit of light snow/flurries/snow showers that should accumulate to between a dusting and an inch both days.

The Saturday storm has disappeared and it will actually get above freezing on Saturday afternoon as the arctic cold front moves north of us briefly.  It is this front that will become the focal point for our weather early next week.  A storm will develop along this front and approach our area from the west, at the same time that the front moves to our south again, allowing colder air to filter into our area.  This storm may cause snow to develop on Sunday morning, likely continuing through the day on Sunday and into Monday, becoming heavy at times on Monday morning.  The snow should end on Monday night.  There could very well be a significant accumulation of snow.

I will however continue to urge caution with this forecast because there were supposed to be several significant storms this week that turned out to be nothing.

Moving beyond the possible storm on Sunday into Monday, there will be another snow threat for later next week sometime between Tuesday and Friday.
