The cold and snow have returned, with some areas receiving
Lake Effect snow showers last night.
Today we will have a chance of a snow shower this morning as
a weak disturbance approaches.
Tomorrow a bit stronger disturbance will bring us a dusting
to an inch of snow in the morning.
It will then get quite a bit colder on Thursday with lows dropping
into the single digits and there will again be a chance of a snow shower.
Saturday another disturbance will approach, again bringing a
chance of snow showers.
Then on Sunday a much stronger area of low pressure will be
approaching from the West. This storm is
likely to ride along the arctic cold front that will be situated just to our
south. This will likely cause snow to
develop on Sunday and continue through the day on Monday as the storm exits the
coast near the Delmarva Peninsula on Monday night. If this does happen the way the models are
currently depicting, we would get a significant snowstorm on Sunday and
Monday. Of course, as I have said
repeatedly, the models also looked significant with the storms this week, then
they died out, so we will have to wait and see what happens, but at this point,
the models continue to hold firm with this scenario.
After the potential Sunday/Monday storm departs on Monday
night, we will likely get another storm behind it, with the models diverging on
the timing of this storm anywhere from Tuesday of next week through Thursday of
next week. This storm will likely bring
us more snow, but I am not yet certain which day it will be, but expect the
possibility of more snow sometime between Tuesday and Thursday of next week,
and this one could again be significant.
And yeah, no end in sight to this pattern yet. I keep watching though and I will let you
know as soon as I see it.
