Wednesday, February 26th, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

We will have a bit of light snow/snow showers/flurries today and tomorrow that could accumulate to a dusting to a half of an inch both days.

The next storm of concern will be on Sunday into Monday when a storm will be developing along the arctic cold front that will have stalled out just to our south.  The storm will ride along this front on Sunday and Monday, exiting off the Delmarva Peninsula on Monday night.  If the storm does indeed take this track it would mean a significant accumulation of snow on Sunday and Monday.

The snow would begin lightly on Sunday morning and continue through the day and night, becoming heavier on Monday morning and afternoon, and then ending on Monday night.  Preliminarily, it looks as if we could get 6-12 inches or more with this storm.  However, it is still too early to be sure of total accumulations, so at this point just realize that the potential is there for a significant, possibly very significant, accumulation of snow on Sunday, and especially Monday, but we will have to wait a little bit longer to make sure that the track of this storm does not change.

After the potential storm for Sunday and Monday passes there will be a chance of another storm bringing us more snow next Thursday night into Friday morning and again the following Sunday night into Monday morning and once again on Tuesday.

Luckily, I think I am starting to see signs of the spring pattern starting to develop by the end of the second week in March.  Then again, maybe I am just seeing things.
