Today will be quite nice, with just a chance of a rain
shower during the day and a rain or snow shower at night with a high in the low
to mid 50’s.
Tomorrow a storm will form in the Southeastern United States
and will start moving in our direction at the same time that the Polar Vortex
moves back to Southeastern Canada. The Polar Vortex looks as if it will once
again win this battle, keeping the storm just to our south and giving Virginia,
Maryland, Delaware, and South Jersey another significant snowstorm.
We may get some flurries or a little light snow on Sunday
night and Monday morning, but we may also escape completely snow-free.
Another storm will approach from the southeast on Tuesday
night and there is a slight chance it could get close enough to bring us a bit
of light snow again on Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but it is again
possible we will miss this storm as well.
On Wednesday afternoon and especially on Wednesday night
into Thursday morning we will have some showers as yet another storm approaches
our area.
We will likely get one warm day next Thursday with a high in
the mid 50’s, then the next chance of showers will be next Saturday.
I can’t yet declare winter over as there is a strong signal
for another storm along the East Coast next Tuesday, with lots of cold air in
place. This storm will likely bring
someone along the East Coast another chance of a significant snowstorm. If you had to bet though, the way these have
been working out lately, it will find a way to hit Virginia again.
