The first day of spring is Thursday but we will have more of
a winter-like pattern over the next week than a spring-like one.
Tomorrow a storm system will approach, bringing a chance for
some rain tomorrow afternoon and night.
The rain could start at snow in some locations, especially in
Northwestern New Jersey, where it could even accumulate to a dusting to an inch
in some locations of far Northwest New Jersey prior to changing to rain.
Thursday should then be quite nice with a high in the low 50’s.
Friday we will have a chance of a rain or snow shower with a
high in the mid 40’s.
Saturday morning another storm system will approach,
bringing us a chance of some snow developing early on Saturday morning and
possibly changing to rain before ending.
The snow could accumulate to a dusting or an inch or two in some
locations prior to any changeover to rain.
Sunday another storm system will approach, bringing another
chance for rain or snow showers in the afternoon that could accumulate to a
dusting to an inch in some locations.
Next Tuesday we will have to watch for the potential of a
more significant storm to develop near the East Coast. One disturbance will drop down from Canada
and one will develop along the Gulf Coast.
The disturbances will move in our direction at the same time that the
Polar Vortex makes another visit to Southeastern Canada. Depending upon how all of these pieces come
together we could see a significant snowstorm next Tuesday. However, the last three significant storms
have missed us, two to the south and one to the north, so we will have to wait
and see what happens.
