Well, somehow I called this one about 10 days ago when I
said that somehow this storm would likely find a way to miss us and give our
friends down in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and South Jersey another
significant snowstorm. I was just
kidding at the time (kind of), but it will work out that way again as history
repeats itself. Those areas to our south
will once again get 2-6 inches of snow today as this storm slides to our south
and then east, also giving Eastern Long Island and Southeastern New England 2-6
inches tonight and Cape Cod could get more than a foot.
In our area we will just get a dusting to an inch this
evening and tonight, ending by tomorrow morning. The bigger problem will likely be the winds tomorrow
that are likely to gust to 40-50 mph as the storm rapidly intensifies tomorrow
morning to become one of the most intense Nor’easters in history.
After this storm passes tomorrow, temperatures will
gradually warm to the 50’s by Friday. We
will however have a chance of showers on Friday and possibly heavy rain on
Saturday afternoon as a storm approaches from the south.
It had looked as if temperatures might warm nicely early
next week but it now doesn’t, as temperatures should stay in the 40’s and 50’s,
possibly even dropping back to winter-like temperatures the following
weekend.
