We lucked out with this storm as it remained just to our
south and east last night, as I had correctly forecast 10 days ago. I just wish I had stuck with that
forecast. It is really amazing how history often
repeats. These storms had been missing
us to the south the entire month and this one did the same.
I re-posted my forecasts for this storm last night. I first mentioned the possibility of this
storm 10 days ago and even mentioned somewhat jokingly that it would likely miss us to
the south. Then 8 days ago was the first
post I made when I realized just how intense this storm would be. Anyway, take a look at some of the prior
posts from last night.
We missed out on the snow but we won’t miss out on the
wind. Winds will increase in intensity this
morning, with gusts of 40-50 mph developing by mid to late morning as this
storm blows up into one of the most intense Nor’easters in history, leading to
some branches and trees coming down, possibly causing some power outages.
Temperatures will then warm a bit to the low 40’s tomorrow
and around 50 on Friday, although showers will develop on Friday.
A storm will then approach from the west on Saturday,
bringing some heavy rain to our area for the weekend that could lead to some
flooding. There is also a chance the
rain could mix with some wet snow on Sunday night into Monday morning as the
storm moves off the coast and turns into a weak Nor'easter.
Most of next week will then be unsettled with a chance for
rain or snow showers nearly every day, and a chance for more heavy rain next
Friday as another storm may approach from the west.
What do they say?
April showers bring May flowers.
Well, get ready for the April showers, here they come…

near Asbury Park, courtesy of my mom.
