This blog will be
reaching a million page views very soon. I could not imagine that this would
have ever even been possible. I want to thank each and every one of you
who made this possible and special thanks goes out to Mike and Heather Michels, Jim Dunbar, Dave Conca, Joe
Diblasi, and Dan Bertelli, who were instrumental in producing this blog.
Thanks a million in advance.
Thanks a million in advance.
I couldn't understand why I got a new Twitter follower
yesterday from Long Island. Until I saw
that they got 4-5 inches of snow yesterday morning. Yeah, I was pretty much the only person even
talking about the possibility of snow yesterday morning and many of you saw the
picture that my mother sent me that I posted of the snow falling in Asbury Park
yesterday.
Well, yeah, that same band dropped 4-5 inches of snow on
Long Island.
What is interesting is that I often see these possibilities
from very far in advance but it is extremely difficult to get the exact
location correct. Every one of the
storms I forecast in March happened, and they happened pretty much exactly as I
predicted around 10 days in advance, but the snow part of the storm happened
around 70 miles in all directions of us.
I will continue working on trying to get the exact locations correct,
but from that far in advance it is extremely difficult to do. Click here to see the amazing snowfall totals
from Long Island yesterday morning.
Moving forward, we will have some nice weather today with a
high in the mid 50’s, followed by a chance of a shower tomorrow, Thursday, and
Friday, with increasing chances through Friday and especially Friday
night. Temperatures will be in the mid
50’s tomorrow and Thursday, dropping to the low 40’s on Friday.
This coming weekend then looks quite nice with high possibly
reaching the low to mid 60’s on Saturday, then dropping to the low 50’s on
Sunday.
Then next week there will be several disturbances to deal
with and the models are still not sure how these pieces will come
together. The best guess right now would
be that two pieces will come together to bring us a chance for rain or snow on Monday
night into Tuesday and another piece bringing us a second chance for rain or
snow on Wednesday night and Thursday. It
seems there may be enough cold air available to the north for these storms to produce
snow if the storm tracks to our east, but if they track over us or to our west,
warm air would stay in place, producing rain.
We will have to wait and see what happens.
