Cool weather today and tomorrow and flooding rains may be on
the way …
Today showers will move into our area as a slow moving storm
system approaches. It will also be cool
with a high only in the mid to upper 40’s.
Tomorrow we will have rain, heavy at times, especially at
night, with a high only in the upper 40’s late in the day. The rain may become quite heavy at night and
this could lead to some flooding as the models are projecting 2-3 inches of
rain throughout our area, and central New Jersey could receive 3-4 inches of
rain.
We should be able to handle 2 inches of rain fairly well,
with only a bit of flooding in some areas, as we have been quite dry lately,
but if we were to get 3 inches of rain there would definitely be some flooding
issues and if any areas receive 4 inches of rain, that would likely lead to
some fairly significant flooding. Anyone
who lives in a flood prone area should keep a close eye on this potential.
Then early on Thursday morning the rain will end, with only
a chance of a shower in the afternoon.
It will also be warmer on Thursday, with highs likely reaching the low
to mid 70’s.
Then from Friday through the following week we will have
variably cloudy skies most days with a chance of a shower from time to time and
highs generally in the low 60’s and lows in the 40’s. The best chance for rain next week will be on
Wednesday again, and the best chance for temperatures to make it into the 70’s
would again be Thursday of next week.
