Monday, October 13, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

The end of October in New Jersey has proven in the past to be a volatile time of year.  This year looks no different…

We will see warmer temperatures today through Wednesday with highs in the upper 60’s today and the low to mid 70’s tomorrow and Wednesday.  There will however be a chance of a shower tonight through Wednesday.

On Thursday a cold front will move through out area, bringing with it a chance of heavy rain in the morning, followed by some clearing in the afternoon.  It will be cooler with a high in the mid 60’s.

Friday should be nice with highs in the mid to upper 60’s.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening as another cold front approaches our area.  The high on Saturday should be in the upper 60’s.

Sunday should then be mostly sunny and cooler with a high in the low 60’s.

Next Monday through Wednesday should be variably cloudy and cool with a slight chance of a shower each day and highs ranging from the mid 50’s to the low 60’s.

Next Thursday will be a chance of a strong Nor’easter developing along the East Coast as a piece of energy moving down from the Northern Jet Stream may combine with a piece of energy moving up from the Southern Jet Stream.  Depending on whether, where, and how these two pieces come together we could have some very unsettled weather next Thursday into Friday morning.  We will have to wait and see how this works out.  If this storm occurs temperatures would likely be in the 40’s next Thursday and Friday.

After the potential storm moves away late next week it should be nice the following weekend with highs in the 50’s.
