Monday, October 27, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

This weekend will be COLD and there may very well be some snow flurries in the air, and possibly even a bit more than that…

First though, it will be beautiful today and tomorrow and with highs in the upper 50’s today and the upper 60’s tomorrow as warm air surges north into our area ahead of an approaching cold front.

Wednesday a cold front will pass through our area, bringing with it a chance for some showers, with some clearing likely late in the day.  The high on Wednesday will be in the low to mid 60’s.

Thursday will then be mostly sunny behind the front with highs in the low to mid 50’s.

Halloween day there will be increasing cloudiness with a chance of a rain shower at night, then a chance of a snow shower late at night.  The high on Halloween day will be in the low to mid 50’s.

Saturday there will be a chance of snow flurries or snow showers, with some accumulation possible, especially in the higher elevations and in Southeastern New York State.  Up in Northern New York State and into Vermont significant accumulations are possible (with up to a foot or more possible in the Killington, Vermont area).  It will be quite cold and breezy with a low on Saturday morning in the low to mid 30’s and highs only around 40, with wind chill values making it feel like the 20’s at times during the day.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a flurry in the morning and lows on Sunday morning will be around 30.  It will then clear out and be sunny in the afternoon with highs only around 40.

Next Monday will be mostly sunny and very cold in the morning with lows in the low to mid 20’s and highs in the mid 40’s.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower, with showers likely next Wednesday night as a cold front approaches.  The highs will be in the mid to upper 40’s on Tuesday, rising to the low 60’s on Wednesday as warm air surges north into our area ahead of an approaching cold front.

Next Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers and highs in the mid 40’s.

Next Friday and Saturday should be mostly sunny with highs in the low 40’s next Friday and the mid to upper 40’s next Saturday.

Next Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower at night.  Highs will be in the upper 40’s.
