Late October in Northern New Jersey brought an F2 tornado in
1981 that nearly hit my home, about 6 inches of snow back in the early 1980’s, a
freak snowstorm that brought a foot of snow to some locations in Northern New
Jersey a few years ago, and of course, Superstorm Sandy. What will it be this year? Stay tuned…
Temperatures have been rising all night and will peak in the
mid 70’s this afternoon as warm air surges north into our area ahead of an
approaching cold front. There will be a
slight chance of a shower today.
Tomorrow will be quite unsettled as the cold front nears,
with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm in the morning and they will be
likely in the afternoon and at night and will be heavy at times. The highs tomorrow will be in the low 70’s.
Thursday will then be variably cloudy and cooler with a
chance of a shower and a high in the mid 60’s.
Friday and Saturday will then be mostly sunny with highs
rising from the mid to upper 60’s on Friday to the low 70’s on Saturday.
Sunday and Monday there will be a slight chance of a shower
and it will be MUCH cooler with lows in the 30’s in many locations and highs
only around 50 on Sunday and in the low to mid 50’s on Monday.
Next Tuesday a cold front will approach, bringing with it a
chance for some showers and highs in the upper 50’s.
Next Wednesday and Thursday a Nor’easter may form in our
area, bringing with it a chance of rain, possibly heavy at times and highs only
in the 40’s.
Next Friday through Monday should then be mostly sunny but
very cool with lows possibly dropping to the upper 20’s next Friday and
Saturday in the coldest locations and highs rising from the upper 40’s next
Friday to the upper 50’s next Monday.
