My gut instinct is
likely to be correct again. So much for the sunny skies that were
forecast by the National Weather Service on Saturday...
Nor'easter
likely to develop off the New Jersey coast on Saturday.
Now the question will be
how much of the precipitation will fall as rain, and how much as
snow.
First
though...
It will be beautiful today with a high in the upper 60’s as
warm air surges north into our area ahead of an approaching cold front.
Tomorrow we will have a chance of showers as the cold front
approaches, and then it will start to clear out late in the day as the cold
front passes through. Highs in the late
morning will be in the low 60’s.
Thursday will be quite nice, but cool with highs in the low
to mid 50’s.
Halloween day we will have increasing cloudiness with light
rain or light snow, or mixed light rain and light snow developing at night
(around 10pm). The high on Halloween day
will be in the low 50’s.
Saturday a Nor’easter will develop off the New Jersey
coast. This will bring us rain or snow,
or mixed rain and snow depending on how and where the storm develops and how
much it intensifies and how rapidly.
Temperatures will be in the mid 40’s during the day and possibly colder
if the storm intensifies more rapidly than currently projected, or a bit
further out to sea. Either way,
temperatures will drop into the mid to upper 30’s at night, gradually causing
the precipitation to mix with or change to snow by Sunday morning.
Sunday morning there will be a chance of snow or snow
showers/flurries with temperatures in the mid to upper 30’s.
Parts of inland New England could get a foot or more of snow.
Any snow or snow showers/flurries will come to an end on
Sunday morning, then things will clear out with highs on Sunday in the low to
mid 40’s.
Monday and Tuesday should then be nice, but cold with lows
around freezing and highs rising from the mid to upper 40’s on Monday to the
low 50’s on Tuesday.
Next Wednesday a cold front will approach, bringing warmer
air ahead of the front, but a chance of showers also with highs in the low 60’s.
Behind the front next Thursday it will be colder with a
chance of rain or snow showers and highs in the upper 40’s.
Next Friday through Monday should then be nice but cool with
highs rising from the mid 40’s to the low 50’s.
Next Monday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a
shower and a high in the mid 50’s.
