Saturday, November 8, 2014 - Evening Weather Discussion

The Polar Vortex is on the way but will it snow?

We will have nice weather and gradually warming temperatures through Tuesday, with highs tomorrow around 50, the middle 50's on Monday and the low 60's on Tuesday.

Wednesday we will have variably cloudy skies with a chance of a shower in the morning and highs in the low 60's.

Thursday will be variably cloudy and colder as a strong cold front will come through late on Wednesday night.  The high on Thursday will be in the mid 40's.

Late Thursday night two weak storms will approach, bringing a slight chance of some light snow, show showers or flurries late on Thursday night and into early Friday morning.  There is still a slight chance that these two systems could merge and become something more important but right now it appears that they are more likely to remain separate. The low on Friday morning will be in the mid to upper 20's and the high on Friday will be around 40.

Saturday should be mostly sunny with lows in the mid 20's and highs in the mid to upper 30's.

Next Sunday we will have a chance of snow developing in the morning, probably changing to rain and continuing through the night as this storm may take an inland track.  If it takes an inland track as now appears possible, it would allow warm air to override the cold air and change the snow to rain rather quickly.  We will need to watch this closely as at the very least, things could start out wintry on Sunday.  If the storm takes an offshore track as had looked likely previously it would mean a greater chance of all snow.  If the storm takes an inland track as currently projected, high temperatures on Sunday would rise to the mid 40's after an early morning low in the mid to upper 20's.

Next Monday there will be a chance of showers in the morning, followed by clearing and a morning high in the mid 40's before dropping in the afternoon as the arctic cold front approaches and then passes through with much colder air for next Tuesday.

Next Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower.  Lows will be in the mid 20's and highs in the low 30's.

Next Wednesday should be mostly sunny but cold with lows in the low 20's and highs in the low 30's.

Next Thursday there will be increasing cloudiness with highs in the mid to upper 30's.

Next Friday there will be a chance of snow and highs in the low to mid 30's.

Check back in tomorrow morning for the latest.

Have a nice evening!
