Thursday, November 6, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

An arctic cold front is on the way next Wednesday morning, followed by a chance of snow.  Then a Nor’easter may form for next weekend with a chance of snow…

First though, we will have a rather ugly day today with rain throughout most of the day, although it may be rather light this afternoon.  The high today will be around 50.

Tomorrow there will be a chance of some light rain, drizzle, or showers that could mix with or change to light snow, snow showers, or flurries in the evening before ending.  The high tomorrow will be in the mid to upper 40’s.

Saturday through Monday should then be quite nice with gradually warming temperatures.  The high on Saturday will be in the mid 40’s, then around 50 on Sunday and the mid 50’s on Monday.

Tuesday clouds will increase with a chance of a shower in the evening and a chance of snow late at night as an arctic cold front will be passing through.  The high on Tuesday will be in the low 50’s.

Wednesday there will be a chance of snow early in the morning, followed by clearing.  If there is really snow behind this front it could accumulate a bit and we will need to keep a close eye on this potential.  However, often there is not really precipitation behind these fronts, so it is entirely possible this snow threat won’t happen at all.  Right now I will leave it in the forecast just in case.  I will keep a close eye on it for you.  It will then be cold behind the front on Wednesday with lows around 30 and highs in the mid 30’s, so if there is any snow early on Wednesday it would accumulate and stick to the roads.

Next Thursday should then be mostly sunny and cold with lows in the mid to upper 20’s and highs in the mid to upper 30’s.

Next Friday clouds will increase as a Nor’easter may very well develop along the Middle Atlantic Coast.  The low will be in the mid to upper 20’s and the high will be in the mid to upper 30’s.

Next Friday night there will be a chance of snow if my Nor’easter does develop as I think it will.  It is also possible this storm could be delayed another day, but we will have to wait and see if it happens at all.

Next Saturday and Sunday there will be a chance of rain or snow as a Nor’easter may strengthen along the Middle Atlantic Coast.  The track of this storm (if it develops at all) will determine whether we receive rain or snow, but snow is a real threat with this potential storm throughout Northern New Jersey.  The lows will be in the mid to upper 20’s and the highs will be in the low to mid 30’s.

Next Monday and Tuesday should then be nice but cold with highs in the low to mid 40’s.

Next Wednesday clouds will increase as a storm approaches our area from the west.  This will bring us a chance of rain or snow next Wednesday night and Thursday.  The high should be in the upper 40’s on Wednesday.

Have a great day!
