Wednesday, November 5, 2014 - Morning Weather Discussion

Winter-like weather may be on the way…

We will have one last day of warm weather for a while today with a high around 60 as warm air continues to surge northward into our area ahead of an approaching cold front.

Tomorrow showers will be likely and it will be cooler with a high in the low 50’s.

Friday we will have a chance of showers throughout the day and they could mix with or change to snow showers before ending on Friday evening.  The high on Friday we will be in the upper 40’s.

Saturday will then be nice, but cold with lows around 30 and highs only in the mid 40’s.

Sunday there will be a chance of showers all day with a high again in the mid 40’s.

Tuesday will start out sunny but clouds will increase in the afternoon ahead of an approaching cold front.  As the cold front approaches, warm air will surge into our area again ahead of the front with highs reaching the upper 50’s.

Next Wednesday a strong cold front will move through our area, with the chance of some moisture behind this front on Wednesday afternoon and night.  This would bring us a chance of snow showers next Wednesday afternoon and night with a high in the low to mid 40’s, but dropping as the moisture moves in, to the low to mid 30’s by evening.

Next Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of some snow showers.  The low will drop to the mid to upper 20’s next Thursday morning and the highs will only be in the mid to upper 30’s.

Next Friday should be mostly sunny but cold with lows again in the mid to upper 20’s and highs around 40.

Next Saturday should be mostly sunny but cold with lows in the mid to upper 20’s and highs in the low 40’s.

Next Sunday and Monday we will have to wait and see if the potential Nor’easter develops that I have been watching for some time.  If it does develop, there would be a real chance of at least some snow with it, as there will be plenty of cold air around with lows in the mid to upper 20’s and highs only in the low 40’s, and much cooler if a Nor’easter does develop.  However, it is still much too early to tell if it will develop at all, and if it does what the all-important track would be.  Stay tuned.

Next Tuesday things should clear out with mostly sunny skies, but it will still be cold with lows in the mid to upper 20’s and highs in the low 40’s.

It does appear that things may finally warm up going just beyond this forecast period.  We shall see.
