So, when is the next chance for snow? Two big storms likely on the way, one for
next weekend and one for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day…
First though, we will get some well deserved nice weather
through Monday with gradually warming temperatures. Highs will be in the mid 30’s tomorrow, the
upper 30’s on Sunday and the low 40’s on Monday.
Tuesday we will have a chance of showers as a weak low
pressure area approaches from the West.
The highs should be in the low 40’s.
Then we should get nice but cooler weather Wednesday through
Friday. The highs should be in the upper
30’s on Wednesday, and the low to mid 30’s on Thursday and Friday.
Next Saturday clouds should increase as a storm system moves
eastward along the Gulf Coast, then into the Tennessee River Valley. The storm should then re-develop near Cape
Hatteras, North Carolina early on Sunday morning. It will then strengthen rapidly as it moves
northward to a point about 50 miles east of New Jersey next Sunday afternoon.
If the track that I outlined above verifies it would mean
that snow would develop on Saturday night and continue through the day on
Sunday and possibly into early Monday morning, with significant accumulations
likely IF my track verifies. And yeah,
this time I think it will be snow as we won’t have any really strange
situations with storms visiting Bermuda and then returning to us with warm
air.
Then things should clear out on Monday afternoon and remain
nice next Tuesday.
Then Christmas Eve
and Christmas Day we will have another chance for snow as a storm may drop down
from Central Canada and into the Upper Great Plains at the same time that a
storm is moving along the Gulf Coast.
These two storms will likely merge into one storm near the Middle Atlantic
coast on Christmas Eve, continuing the chance for snow into Christmas Day. Merry Christmas…
There is actually a good chance for another
strong Nor’easter the weekend after Christmas…
Yes, this is going to be one heck of winter.
Have a wonderful evening.
