Monday, December 1, 2014 - Evening Weather Discussion

We are headed into one really convoluted and super messed up weather pattern over the next 10 days to two weeks.  As a result, at the moment I don’t trust the data past this coming Thursday…

The high was 54 degrees today at my location before the warm front started moving back southward as a cold front and now it has dropped to 38 degrees already and will drop to the upper 20’s to low 30’s by morning, then will only rise to the low to mid 30’s during the day before finally rising to the mid to upper 30’s at night.  In the mean time light snow will develop between around 11 am and 1 pm tomorrow as the warm front pushes northward.  It will then mix with sleet around 5 or 6 pm before changing to rain by around 8-9 pm.  There could be a dusting to an inch of accumulation in Northwest New Jersey and a dusting in Northeastern New Jersey before the changeover.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy and warmer with a slight chance of a shower and a high in the mid to upper 40’s.

Wednesday night the front will then move south again as a cold front, bringing nice but cooler weather for Thursday with highs in the upper 30’s.

Friday the front will start to move northward again as a warm front, bringing a chance for light snow to develop once again around 11 am to 12 noon and then changing to sleet in the early evening and then to rain by midnight.  The high on Friday will occur late in the day with a high in the mid to upper 30’s.

Then Saturday through next Thursday I don’t trust the data.  The data is really strange and is all over the place.  The way the data appears right now is that some sort of a weak coastal low will form for Saturday through possibly Monday that would bring us rain but it is really close to being snow.

Then the data shows the possibility of a second coastal storm developing right after it for Tuesday through Thursday of next week and this storm would have a good chance of being snow, if it does develop.

After that there may very well be another storm we will have to watch for around the following Sunday as well.

Anyway, past this Thursday we will just have to wait and see what happens.  Join me in the morning for the latest.

The roads may get slippery for the drive home tomorrow evening, so please be careful.

If you want to escape the cold and snow, my dad owns a real estate company in Florida. Click here to view his company website.
