First though, we will have nice but cold weather through Friday with highs in the 30's.
Saturday clouds will increase, followed by rain developing in the late afternoon or evening, possibly starting as freezing rain in Northwest New Jersey.
Saturday night and Sunday morning we will have rain, heavy at times, followed by a chance of a shower on Sunday afternoon. The highs on Sunday will likely reach the low to mid 50's as warm air surges in with the storm.
Then early next week it will be quite cold with high only in the 20's and lows in the teens.
The possible snow threat will be next Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning as an Alberta Clipper may threaten our area. Alberta Clippers are fast moving weak areas of low pressure that drop down into the United States from Alberta Canada and move quickly across the Northern United States, then off the Middle Atlantic Coast. They usually have very little moisture to work and they move very quickly. Sometimes they can slow down a bit as they near the Atlantic Coast which allows them to pick up a bit of moisture. Depending on the track and strength of this Alberta Clipper there would be a possibility of accumulating snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. One thing that is certain is that it will be below freezing and any precipitation that falls will be snow. The big question is how much moisture this storm will have to work with and the track that it takes. We will have to wait and see.
After this storm passes it will likely get VERY COLD next Thursday with lows in the single digits and highs in the teens, warming to the teens for lows next Friday with highs in the 20's.
Next weekend it will likely warm once again with our next chance of rain followed by a bit of a cool down going into the beginning of the next week.
