There is the possibility of serious problems in the
Northeastern United States from Sunday night through next Thursday…
First though, we will have showers today with highs in the
mid 40’s.
Tomorrow we will finally get a nice day, but it will be
chilly with highs in the upper 30’s.
Friday the clouds will return and there will be a chance of
light rain or light snow developing in the afternoon or evening and then
changing to rain. The highs will be in
the upper 30’s to the low 40’s.
Saturday we will have rain with highs in the low 40’s.
Then there is the possibility of serious problems in the
Northeastern United States from Sunday night through next Thursday, with the
potential for crippling ice and snow anywhere from the mountains of West
Virginia and Virginia through Western Maryland, Central and Northeastern
Pennsylvania, Northern New Jersey, New York State, and all of New England
excluding possibly southern coastal sections. Someone in one of these areas could get as much as 2-3 FEET of snow and others could get a crippling ice storm.
It is just a possibility at this point, IT MAY NOT HAPPEN AND OR IT MAY NOT HAPPEN IN ALL THE AREAS OUTLINED ABOVE, but then again it might.
What may happen is that two separate coastal lows or Nor’easters
may develop along or off the Middle Atlantic Coast, or one big one. One may develop on Sunday night into Monday
and another for Tuesday through Thursday morning or there may simply be one
big, slow moving storm from Sunday night through Thursday morning, with the possibility
of some breaks. There are still many
questions as to exactly how this situation will develop and it could end up
developing too far out to sea to affect our area and we could end up sunny
(unlikely), or it could come so close to us that it is all rain. We could also get a terrible crippling ice or
snow storm. Anything is possible so I
would encourage you to check back for updates. It does appear that if the storm
were to continue into Wednesday and Thursday it would be more likely to be
snow.
Sunday we will have a chance of rain during the day and rain,
snow, freezing rain, or sleet at night with highs in the mid to upper 30’s.
Monday and Tuesday we will have a chance of rain, snow,
freezing rain or sleet with highs in the low to mid 30’s.
Wednesday into Thursday morning we will have a chance of snow
with highs in the low to mid 30’s on Wednesday and the mid to upper 30’s on
Thursday after the storm departs.
Next Friday through Monday we should then get some well
deserved nice weather with highs in the low to mid 40’s.
The next storm to watch would likely then be next Tuesday
with highs in the mid to upper 30’s.
