Friday, January 16, 2015 - Morning Weather Discussion

Warmer today, colder tomorrow, coastal storm Sunday, chance of snow Wednesday, next Friday, next Monday and next Wednesday…

Well, today will be the warmest day we have seen in quite a while as temperatures make it into the mid 30’s this afternoon.  Then a cold front will come through late this afternoon, bringing us a chance of a flurry this afternoon and cold air again for tomorrow with lows dropping to the upper single digits to low teens tomorrow morning and the highs only in the mid to upper 20’s.

Sunday a strong upper level low will be moving through the Great Lakes, turning our winds to the south and bringing us warmer weather on Sunday with highs in the low 40’s.  This upper level low pressure area will also cause a storm to develop along the Middle Atlantic Coast on Sunday, bringing us a chance for rain on Sunday that could mix with or change to a bit of snow on Sunday night before ending, although no snowfall accumulation is expected.

Monday morning we will have a chance of a snow shower as the coastal storm starts to pull away to the north.  The high on Monday should be in the mid 30’s.

Tuesday should be mostly sunny but with clouds increasing late in the day as another storm system approaches from the west.  This storm could take a track a bit further to the south, bringing us a chance of some snow late on Tuesday night and into Wednesday as it exits the Middle Atlantic Coast.  Depending on the track that the storm takes and whether it intensifies as it nears the coast we could see anything from flurries to a few inches of snow on Wednesday.   The high on Wednesday should be in the low to mid 30’s.

Thursday should be nice with highs in the low 30’s.

Next Friday a storm may form along the Gulf Coast and if it combines forces with a storm dropping down from Canada it would bring us a chance of snow next Friday with highs in the low 30’s.

Next Saturday should be nice with highs in the upper 20’s.

Next Sunday we will have increasing cloudiness with a chance of snow at night and into Monday as a storm approaches from the west.  The highs next Sunday should be in the low 30’s and in the mid 30’s next Monday.

Next Tuesday should be nice with highs in the mid 30’s.

Next Wednesday we will have a chance of snow as another storm may form along the Gulf Coast and it could combine forces with a storm dropping down from Canada.  The highs next Wednesday should be in the low 30’s.

Next Thursday should be mostly sunny but colder with highs in the mid to upper 20’s.
