The storm did finally end up developing FAR to the east last night. Another last minute surprise. At least I was able to let you know last night. This leaves us with only a chance for an additional 1-6 inches or so from west to east across Northern NJ. The heavy snow now will be to the east of New York City from about Eastern Long Island and through Southeastern New England where 1-3 feet of snow will fall.
Such is the nature of these storms. I remember this happening in my area once last year, once a few years ago and the one back in 2001 that did something similar. Add this one to the list.
