HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015!!!!
Thanks to all of you for making this blog what it has become!
Many areas of Northern New Jersey may break 60 degrees on
Sunday!!!
We will have nice days today and tomorrow, and then clouds
will increase on Saturday.
Saturday around 4-5 pm sleet, freezing rain, or rain will
develop and will change to rain by 8-10 pm, with rain continuing overnight and
through the day on Sunday. The high will
approach or even exceed 60 degrees in many locations on Sunday as warm air
surges north ahead of an approaching cold front.
Monday will then be nice with highs in the mid to upper 30’s.
Tuesday will then be nice, but MUCH colder with highs only
in the low to mid 20’s, with clouds increasing at night.
Wednesday an Alberta Clipper will approach our area. This
Alberta Clipper will give us a chance of snow showers or light snow starting
around 1am on Wednesday morning and ending around 7-8 am. There is a chance of a dusting to
an inch or two of accumulation.
Alberta Clippers are fast moving
weak areas of low pressure that drop down into the United States from Alberta
Canada and move quickly across the Northern United States, then off the Middle
Atlantic Coast. They usually have very little moisture to work and they
move very quickly. Sometimes they can slow down a bit as they near the
Atlantic Coast which allows them to pick up a bit of moisture. Depending
on the track and strength of this Alberta Clipper there would be a possibility
of accumulating snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. One thing that
is certain is that it will be below freezing and any precipitation that falls
will be snow. The big question is how much moisture this storm will have
to work with and the track that it takes. We will have to wait and see.
After this storm passes it will
clear out by late morning on Wednesday with a high in the upper 20’s to low 30’s.
Next Thursday through Saturday
should then be nice but quite cold with just a chance of a snow shower next
Thursday and with increasing cloudiness next Saturday night. The highs will start out very cold on
Thursday with highs only in the mid 20’s, gradually warming to the mid to upper
20’s next Friday and the low to mid 30’s next Saturday.
Next Sunday we will have a chance of
rain or snow as a storm system approaches from the west. The highs will be in the low to mid 40’s next
Sunday.
Next Monday and Tuesday should then
be mostly sunny with increasing cloudiness on Tuesday night and highs mainly in
the upper 30’s.
Next Wednesday we will have a chance
of rain or snow as another storm system approaches from the West with highs
around 40.
