The storm tomorrow is turning out to be quite dry and will likely only give us some snow showers tomorrow afternoon and evening that could give us a dusting or so.
It will then get very cold on Friday with lows around zero and highs only in the mid teens.
Then Saturday an Alberta Clipper will approach and so will the Polar Vortex. Any time you are messing with the Polar Vortex dropping down from Canada in association with an Alberta Clipper dropping down from Canada you have to keep a close eye on things. When that polar air reaches the warm Gulf Stream waters off shore it often creates an explosive situation and this time is likely to be no different. However, the devil is in the details. The only thing I know for sure is that Southeastern New England is likely in the bull's eye for another major snowstorm, if not blizzard. We will likely be on the outskirts of this developing monster storm. It is difficult to figure our where exactly that will leave us at this point, as it depends completely on where this storm sets up. Of course, you saw how Mother Nature threw a surprise last time and missed us and that is always possible again. However, it is not completely impossible that Mother Nature could throw a reverse surprise this time. Now, I doubt that will happen, but pretty much everyone doubted the other one would miss us also, so yes, we need to keep a very close eye on this situation.
Most likely we will get 1-3 inches of snow from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning, then it gets brutally cold with HIGHS ONLY IN THE UPPER SINGLE DIGITS ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON. It will then drop to 5-10 degrees BELOW ZERO on Monday morning and the high on Monday will only be in the low teens.
A storm system will then approach our area from the southeast for Tuesday into Wednesday, bringing a chance for a significant snowstorm.
Then there is a slight chance of more snow next Thursday and Friday as another storm could approach our area from the southeast.
Then it should be nice next Saturday before yet another storm system threatens us with more snow next Sunday night into Tuesday morning.
