Wednesday, February 18, 2015 - Evening Weather Discussion

I was interviewed yesterday about the blog by the New Jersey Herald in Newton, NJ. I was surprised when I was told this morning that I was on the front page of the paper! Click here to view the article.

We will have to get through a bit more snow and cold weather over the next couple of days...

The low reached -9 in Andover, Sussex County this morning and -4 at my weather station in Allamuchy, Warren County.

We will have some snow showers tonight and tomorrow as an Alberta Clipper passes by, then it will get very cold with highs tomorrow and Friday only in the teens and lows on Friday morning below zero in most locations.

Saturday some snow will develop in the evening as a low pressure area approaches from the southwest.

The snow will change to freezing rain early on Sunday morning, then to rain by sunrise as temperatures will rise to the low 40's on Sunday. The rain will come to an end late on Sunday night.

A coastal storm will form along the Middle Atlantic Coast next Tuesday and Wednesday but it should remain far enough out to sea to keep us dry. I will keep an eye on this just in case.

The next time frame to watch for a possible coastal storm will be next Saturday through Monday but it is far too early to tell if that one will develop, and if it does, whether it would be rain or snow.
