The snow returns tomorrow, although only a little bit, then
next week we may get quite a bit more…
A storm system is moving along the Gulf Coast today and will
bring areas from Northeast Texas, across Southern Arkansas, Northern Louisiana,
Northern Mississippi, Northern Alabama, Northern Georgia, Northwestern South
Carolina, most of North Carolina, and Southeastern Virginia a significant
snowstorm today, with up to a foot possible in sections of Eastern North
Carolina and as much as 6 inches likely in Northern Mississippi, Northern
Alabama, Northern Georgia and Northwestern South Carolina.
Luckily the cold air in place here will keep the storm to
our south, bringing us just a chance of a bit of light snow or flurries
tomorrow that could accumulate to a dusting in some places, but that is about
it.
Friday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of snow
shower in the morning, and then it will clear out with a nice day on Saturday.
Then Sunday through next Friday a cold front will set up
just to our south and several low pressure areas will ride along the front,
bringing us a chance for snow starting on Sunday afternoon or evening and
continuing into Monday morning, then starting again Tuesday afternoon or
evening and continuing into Wednesday morning, and then a third wave of low
pressure will bring us another chance for snow on Friday.
Right now the first wave for Sunday night into Monday
Morning looks like 1-3 inches with the second wave for Tuesday night into
Wednesday looking like 3-6 inches. It is too early to tell on the third wave
for next Friday.
We should then have a nice weekend before the next storm
approaches with a chance for snow next Tuesday.
