Friday, April 29, 2016 - Morning Weather Discussion

Unsettled weather to continue through the next two weeks and warmth to return next Sunday, but is it safe to plant?

This blog broke 3.5 million all-time page views today. I never imagined that would have been possible. Thank you to all of you who read this blog and made this possible. Special thanks go out to Mike and Heather Michels, Jim Dunbar, Dave Conca, and Dan Bertelli of Indian Hills High School in Oakland, NJ, as well as Joe Diblasi, who were instrumental in producing this blog.

The weather will be quite unsettled over the next two weeks as one disturbance after the other approaches our area with just a chance of a shower or two today, and then rain will be likely Sunday and Monday.

Tuesday and Wednesday we may get a break before the next disturbance moves through Thursday through next Sunday with a chance of showers.

Highs will be only in the 50’s today through Monday, and possibly some upper 40’s Sunday.

Tuesday through Saturday highs should be around 60.

It will finally warm up next Sunday through Thursday with highs rising from the mid to upper 60’s next Sunday to around 70 next Monday through Thursday.

As far as planting goes, there will only be a very slight chance of a frost tomorrow morning in sections north of roughly Rt. 78, but other than that, it continues to look safe to plant.
