Chances for a heat wave and a hurricane or two to watch…
One heat wave will come to an end tomorrow in parts of our area with the last day above 90 degrees and we will have a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm.
A hurricane may very well develop in the Gulf of Mexico Monday through Wednesday. This storm should then head towards the Eastern Florida Panhandle. The storm would then head northeastward through Southern Georgia and along the Carolina Coast, possibly intensifying to hurricane force again. This track would likely keep the hurricane to our south and east but we will have to keep a close eye on it.
Assuming that the above projected track becomes true, Tuesday should be nice with highs dropping to the 80’s.
Wednesday there will be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm and highs could again approach 90 degrees in parts of our area.
Thursday there will be a good chance of a shower or thunderstorm, especially in the morning as a cold front passes through our area. Highs should be mainly in the low to mid 80’s.
Friday through Sunday should then be nice and cooler with highs mainly in the mid to upper 70’s.
Labor Day and next Tuesday then look nice with highs around 90.
Next Tuesday then look nice with highs from the upper 80’s to the mid 90’s.
Next Wednesday and Thursday look variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm and highs in the 90’s.
Next Friday and Saturday then look sunny and cooler with highs in the 70’s.
We will then have to watch for the potential of a hurricane to approach the Southeastern United States. Early indications are that this storm could become quite strong and it currently appears that it may make landfall somewhere in the Southeastern United States. We will have to keep a close eye on this situation.
Have a fantastic day and let’s keep a close eye on the potential for a hurricane to develop in the Gulf of Mexico!
