Friday, September 2, 2016 - Morning Weather Discussion

Watching Tropical Storm Hermine…

We need to keep a close eye on the track of Tropical Storm Hermine.

First though, today will be beautiful with highs around 80.

Tomorrow clouds will then increase as Tropical Storm Hermine approaches our area. It will also become breezy in Central NJ and along the coast and there could be some showers in Central NJ and along the coast at night. Highs will be only in the low to mid 70’s.

It currently looks as if Hermine will remain off shore, but may back up close enough to the coast as it spins around that it could bring some rain to parts of our area Sunday and Labor Day. The bigger concern would be wind and high surf along the coast from the constant onshore wind. Highs should be mainly in the low to mid 70’s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm along the coast. Highs should be in the 80’s both days.

Thursday and next Friday could be quite warm as Hermine finally moves away from the coast. Highs could reach or exceed 90 degrees in inland locations and some places could reach the mid 90’s well inland. There will be a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm.

Saturday we will have a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front approaches. Highs will be in the low to mid 80’s in most places.

Next Sunday and Monday should be mostly sunny with highs in the low to mid 80’s next Sunday, dropping to the mid 70’s next Monday.

Next Tuesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm and highs in the mid to upper 70’s.

Next Wednesday and Thursday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 70’s.

Have a fantastic day!
