Showers and thunderstorms moved through, now cooler...
Some strong showers and thunderstorms moved through Northern New Jersey and New York City late this afternoon and are currently moving through Western Long Island. These storms were quite strong and knocked down trees in Sparta, NJ and in other parts of Northern NJ.
There will continue to be a chance of a shower or thunderstorm this evening, although the heaviest ones are behind us.
It will now be nice and cooler tomorrow through Saturday, but with temperatures gradually warming from the 70's in most places tomorrow to the 70's to low 80's Friday and the upper 70's to mid 80's Saturday.
There will then be a chance of a shower or thunderstorm Sunday into Monday morning. The showers and thunderstorms could be heavy on Sunday as a cold front moves through our area. Highs will be in the 70's north of about Rt. 80 and in the 80's south of about Rt. 80 on Sunday, and in the upper 70's to low 80's in most places Monday.
Tuesday through Saturday should then be nice with highs mainly around 80 to the mid 80's Tuesday through next Thursday, rising to the mid to upper 80's next Friday and the upper 80's to low 90's next Saturday.
Next Sunday and Monday there will be a chance of rain with highs in the mid 60's to low 70's.
Have a wonderful evening.
