Tuesday, October 25, 2016 - Evening Weather Discussion

Cold tomorrow, and then some wintry weather likely in northern sections Thursday morning...

Bring the plants inside if you did not already do so!

There were reports of some snow grains today in parts of Northwestern NJ and it will be cold again tomorrow with lows tomorrow morning in the upper 20's to low 30's in the coldest parts of Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Orange County, NY, with highs only in the mid 40's to low 50's.

Thursday a storm will approach from the west, causing precipitation to start early in the morning. It will likely start as snow or sleet  in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT. The snow and sleet should however rather quickly change to rain in most places, but could hang on until the late morning in the higher elevations of Northeastern PA, extreme northwestern NJ, in Orange and Putnam Counties in PA, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT.

There could be some light snow and ice accumulations in Northeastern PA, extreme Northwestern Sussex County, NJ, and in Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT. A dusting to an inch or two of snow and ice accumulation would be possible in these locations, however, it appears to me to be more of a sleet situation with temperatures above freezing, so I would not expect much in the way of accumulation in most places.

There will be a massive difference in temperatures from north to south on Thursday, with highs ranging from the upper 30's to low 40's in Northeastern PA and Northwestern Orange County, NY, to the mid 50's in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island.

Friday then looks nice, but cool, with highs in the 40's to low 50's.

Saturday now looks pretty nice too as a storm should push to our north, giving us warmer weather and just a slight chance of a shower, with highs in the mid 50's to low 60's.

Sunday will then be variably cloudy and quite warm, with a better chance of a shower as another storm system passes to our north. Highs should be in the mid 60's to mid 70's.

Monday through next Friday should then be nice with highs mainly in the 50's.

Next Saturday through Monday there will be a chance of showers as a storm system may develop over the Middle Atlantic States. Highs should be mainly in mid 40's to low 50's.

Have a wonderful evening!
