Saturday, November 19, 2016 - Evening Weather Discussion

Cold front approaching. Nor’easter to develop…

A cold front is moving through Central PA right now, and as it reaches the coast tonight a Nor’easter will develop along the NJ Coast and move northward across Long Island and into New England. This is a strong cold front, and after temperatures rose to an amazing 67 degrees today at my weather station in Allamuchy, Warren County, NJ, temperatures will fall rapidly tonight as the cold front moves through. Then, as the Nor’easter starts to develop the rain will mix with and then change to snow in northern locations. Winds will also become very gusty with the possibility of wind gusts approaching 40 mph in some locations.

The precipitation will come to an end early tomorrow morning with the chance of a dusting of snow in the higher elevations of Northwestern NJ, a dusting to an inch in the higher elevations of Southeastern NY State, and a dusting to up to 2 inches in the higher elevations of Northeastern PA.

Tomorrow will then be variably cloudy with a chance of rain or snow showers. A dusting of snow will be possible again tomorrow evening in East Central PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, NYC, on Long Island, and in Fairfield County, CT, with a dusting to up to two inches possible in Northeastern PA. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Monday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Tuesday and Wednesday will then be nice with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s Tuesday and the mid 30’s to mid 40’s Wednesday.

Thanksgiving Day will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower. Highs will be in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Friday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower during the day and rain at night, as a Nor’easter may form along the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the upper 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Saturday should then be nice with highs in the 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Sunday, we will have increasing cloudiness with a chance of rain or snow developing at night as a Nor’easter may form along the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Monday, we will have a chance of rain or snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Tuesday then looks nice with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Wednesday we will have a chance of rain as a storm system approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to low 60’s.

Next Thursday we will have a chance of rain ending in the morning. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Next Friday, we will have a chance of chance of a rain or snow shower and highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Have a wonderful evening!
