Monday, August 28, 2017 - Morning Weather Discussion

A tropical system could affect our area tomorrow night…

The rainfall and flooding in Southeastern Texas is just unbelievable as up to 60 inches of rain may fall. This is because after going inland Harvey has stalled out and is actually turning around and heading back out into the Gulf of Mexico, will then re-strengthen a bit, and will then make a second landfall near Houston Wednesday morning. This means that the rainfall will continue there through Wednesday.

In our area, a tropical storm system will develop along the Carolina Coast today and tomorrow. This storm will intensify as it moves northeastward, possibly causing showers to develop tomorrow afternoon or evening in our area. Highs will be in the upper 60’s and 70’s today and the 60’s to low 70’s tomorrow.

Wednesday and showers will end early in the morning as the storm heads out to sea. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Thursday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Friday will then be nice with highs in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.

Saturday there will be increasing cloudiness with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm at night as the remnants of Harvey approach our area. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the remnants of Harvey pass through our area. Highs will be in the 60’s to low 70’s.

Next Monday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm with highs in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Next Tuesday looks nice with highs in the 70’s to low 80’s.

Next Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. Highs will be in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s.

Next Thursday through Saturday look nice with highs in the mid 60’s to mid 70’s next Thursday and the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Friday and Saturday.

Next Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as a tropical system may threaten the East Coast of the United States. Highs will be in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s.

Next weekend the East Coast of the United States may be threatened by another tropical system that has just moved off the African Coast. This storm will head westward, strengthening as it does so, possibly becoming a hurricane and threatening the United States, especially Florida and coastal sections of the Southeastern United States next weekend.

Have a fantastic day!
