Severe Thunderstorm Watch Just Issued for Parts of Our Area!

URGENT - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED
   Severe Thunderstorm Watch Number 447
   NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
   245 PM EDT Sat Aug 12 2017

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of
     Western New Jersey
     Central and Eastern New York
     Central and Eastern Pennsylvania

   * Effective this Saturday afternoon and evening from 245 PM until
     900 PM EDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     Scattered large hail events to 1.5 inches in diameter possible
     Isolated damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

   SUMMARY...Storms will continue to increase and intensify this
   afternoon, perhaps especially across south-central/southeast
   Pennsylvania as well as east-central New York. Severe hail and wind
   will be possible with the strongest storms as they spread eastward
   through the afternoon and early evening.

   The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 60
   statute miles east and west of a line from 50 miles northeast of
   Utica NY to 35 miles south of Harrisburg PA. For a complete

   PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

   REMEMBER...A Severe Thunderstorm Watch means conditions are
   favorable for severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch area.
   Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for threatening
   weather conditions and listen for later statements and possible
   warnings. Severe thunderstorms can and occasionally do produce
   tornadoes.

   AVIATION...A few severe thunderstorms with hail surface and aloft to
   1.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind gusts to 60 knots. A
   few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 500. Mean storm motion vector
   27025.
