Wednesday, August 30, 2017 - Morning Weather Discussion

Remnants of Harvey and possibly two more tropical systems to watch…

Today will be nice with highs in the upper 60’s and 70’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of an afternoon or evening shower or thunderstorm as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Friday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60’s to low 70’s.

Saturday will be cloudy with a chance of showers or thunderstorms as the remnants of Harvey pass through our area. Highs will be in the 60’s to low 70’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a  shower or thunderstorm in the morning as the remnants of Harvey depart our area. Highs will be in the 70’s.

Monday then look nice with highs in the upper 70’s and 80’s.

Monday and Tuesday of next week another tropical system may develop in the Western Gulf of Mexico. This storm may then head northward towards the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coasts, then head eastward toward the Florida Panhandle by next Wednesday or Thursday. This does look as if it could bring more heavy rain to already affected areas, but it does not currently appear that this storm will become very strong due to the fact that the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico have already been churned up by Harvey.

Tuesday afternoon through next Friday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as a cold front slowly approaches our area at the same time that the remnants of a tropical system pass through our area. Highs will be in the 80’s to low 90’s Tuesday, the upper 70’s and 80’s next Wednesday, from the 60’s in Northeastern PA to the 80’s in Central NJ next Thursday, and the upper 60’s and 70’s next Friday.

Next weekend a hurricane may be heading westward through the Caribbean Sea. This storm could reach Western Cuba or Florida by Sunday, then turn northward into the Gulf of Mexico, or make landfall on Eastern Florida. This hurricane has the potential to become a major storm. Anyone with interests in Florida or the Gulf of Mexico will want to keep a close eye on this potential.

In our area, it currently looks nice next Saturday through Monday with highs in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Saturday, and the low to mid 70’s next Sunday and Monday.

Next Tuesday may then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the remnants of the hurricane in the Gulf or near Florida approach our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s.

Have a fantastic day!
