Monday, September 11, 2017 - Morning Weather Discussion

Irma devastates Florida and watching Jose…

Irma is absolutely devastating Florida and four million people are without power this morning. A peak wind gust of 142 mph was recorded in Naples, Florida, where the eye made landfall. Heavy rainfall has also fallen across the entire peninsula, with 16 inches of rain recorded at my father’s home in Port Charlotte, Florida. Irma will continue moving northward into Georgia today, bringing strong winds and the first ever in history Tropical Storm Warning to Atlanta. Click here to view…

Irma will eventually move northwestward into Tennessee and die out, leaving us with nice weather today and tomorrow with highs in the 70’s today and the mid 70’s to mid 80’s tomorrow.

Wednesday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm as the remnants of Irma pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 70’s to mid 80’s.

Thursday through next Wednesday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower or thunderstorm each day as a disturbance passes through our area Thursday and Friday, followed by an onshore wind ahead of Hurricane Jose that will be dancing around off the East Coast. Highs will be in the 70’s to low 80’s Thursday, the 70’s Friday through Sunday, the mid 70’s to mid 80’s Monday, and the upper 60’s and 70’s Tuesday and Wednesday.

Next Thursday through Sunday then look nice with highs in the upper 60’s to mid 70’s next Thursday and Friday, and the 70’s next Saturday and Sunday.

Have a fantastic day and let’s continue to hope for the best for our friends and family in Florida…
